Board Games with Scott - Thurn & Taxis
« on: August 14, 2009, 07:25:39 »
I mentioned this game a couple days ago and I thought Chris had told me that Scott gave it a bad review.  That didn't jive with my experience, which was that I liked the game enought to pick it up.  I enjoyed it, I taught two 12 year olds how to play, and they enjoyed it and I think Wendy would like it.

So...I thought I'd see what Scott's beef with this game was.

He gives it an A-.  The minus is because he got frustrated by planning too far in advance...one of the special moves on the board allows you to clear off all of the upcoming cards (similar to Atlantic Star), thus if you plan for a card in the future and it goes away...it CAN be disappointing...but an A- is still in the A category.

Do me a favor.  Go watch the Scott presentation and let me know if it sounds interesting/fun.  I think I'll pick it up.  Who else wants to join in a Fun Again free shipping event?

You're right.  It was my friend Jason that disliked the game.  I was thinking of that when I watched that particular BGwS, so it definately colored my perception of the review.

...I still have no interest in playing it though.
